Young People's Art Exhibition
An art exhibition for young people is being held in the ground floor Court Room at Romsey Town Hall during the second week of the festival. The curator is Romsey artist Rex Trayhorne. Paintings, drawings, sculptures and jewellery items can be submitted for display. The artists must be aged 16 or under and live or attend school in the Romsey area. Most media can be used, but photography will not be included. Pictures should not be larger than A3 and they should be framed and strung if possible. This will enable them to be displayed on peg-boards using hooks if space permits. Some artworks will be displayed on tables or in a cabinet however.
Artwork should be clearly signed with the artist's full name and age as well as the title of the work. Only one artwork can be exhibited by each person and there is no charge for submission.
Although care will be taken, artworks are submitted entirely at the owners' risk and Romsey Arts Festival cannot be responsible for damage or insurance.
Artworks will not be offered for sale during the exhibition.
Artworks must be delivered to the Town Hall between 10.00am and 2.00pm on Sunday 13th July, and they must be accompanied by a completed entry form. These are available at most schools in the area and also from Rex Trayhorne - Tel: 01794 522615. Please call this number if you have any queries.
All artworks must be collected from the Town Hall between 2.00pm and 5.00pm on Friday 18th July.
Prizes and commendations will be awarded in three age categories: 7 and under, 8 to 11, and 12 to 16. These will be awarded on merit and at the discretion of the judges only.
