Rudyard Kipling - An Exceedingly Good Writer

Rudyard Kipling
Kipling, the first Briton to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature, was the most celebrated writer of his time. Generations of children were brought up on the Just So Stories and The Jungle Book, while Kim was widely regarded as a masterpiece. His celebration of the British Tommy and his probing of colonial society are unique.
In this talk Paul Gardner will attempt to relate Kipling's works, in all their surprising variety, to his life. As novelist, short-story writer, children's writer and poet he has much to say to our time.
