As They Roved Out... locally - Woodlands Village Band
Woodlands Village Band
SOLD OUT
A concert of traditional folk songs and tunes collected across southern England. The early years of the 20th century saw several folk song collectors at work in the area. With its rural villages, market, industrial and maritime towns, Hampshire was a rich source of material for Dr George Gardiner amongst others.
The Woodlands Village Band uses fiddle, concertina, mandolin, guitar, double bass and percussion to accompany some of these songs as they celebrate our local musical heritage and explore the stories behind the collectors and their sources.
