Art & Mind presents An Evening with Germaine Greer

Germaine Greer
Controversial agenda-setting author, acclaimed academic and art critic, outspoken broadcaster, television favourite and feminist icon, Germaine Greer is a very special guest at this year's festival. Following on from such huge successes as The Female Eunuch, The Mad Woman's Underclothes and The Whole Woman, Greer has recently published Shakespeare's Wife, which offers a radical insight into the life and career of the farmer's daughter who married our greatest playwright.
This event gives audience members the unique chance to ask those burning questions they have been longing to throw at Germaine - serious or light-hearted, from the point of poetry to politics, the role of women in developing countries, hunting and cruelty to animals, or sex and the over sixties! Expect this face-to-face encounter with the Prof to be candid, pithy, enlightening, crammed with witty polemics, and highly entertaining.
The Art and Mind Festival from Winchester, directed by local artist Garry Kennard, has mounted six festivals to date, all dealing with explorations of our minds and how they respond to and create works of art. Guests have included Brian Eno, Antony Gormley and world-renowned scientist Prof. V. S. Ramachandran.
This year's festival is in June and the theme is 'Identity'. Find out more about Art and Mind at www.artandmind.org
