Madding Crowd Singing Workshop
Sing the rousing music that was used in village churches in the 18th century, with four-part harmonies accompanied by a band. The music suits bowed strings, woodwind, English concertina, and some brass instruments, i.e. line-playing instruments but not chord-playing instruments. The workshop will be followed by a concert from 12 noon to 12.30pm
The Madding Crowd researches and performs the church and secular music of the English village bands and choirs in the period 1660 to 1861. Both singers and instrumentalists are welcome to join The Madding Crowd for a singing workshop and concluding concert.
